...it'll be a little weird. i've actually got a bit more than "a little ego" when it comes to dA, but fuck that. i'll just keep posting merrily away.
this week was kind of weird for me. thursday one of my best friends here calls me up and says, "sup, gabe split his head open and he's in the hospital." ...what? he's back now, though, and fine. yesterday osama dies (or is declared dead, idk). roommate's away for the whole weekend.
also, the biggest event of the weekend: i have discovered linework layers on SAI. i seriously had a fit over them. so. damn. awesome.
welp, i'm working on two things on and off right now, so hopefully i'll have something to submit soon. :3

I don't know.
deviantART has changed a lot since the time I used it most often, both in personal ways and as far as the community goes. Five years ago, three years ago, I checked my messages every day anticipating feedback, comments, concrit, and the next leg of conversation from friends. I'd look through every single deviation from the people I watched. I'd spend hours on here looking at art, tutorials, everything.
I don't know whether it's because of the two-ish years of relative inactivity or because the community itself has changed, but dA really doesn't feel the same any more. It's probably a combination of both. I feel like this place has gotten a l
Aw, man.
I missed my fifth birthdAy. I still can't believe I've been on this site for five years, and what's even more crazy is the improvement from when I first started drawing.
Thank you, deviantART, for helping me grow. I love you.
Sketchblog!
I find myself updating my sketchblog a lot more often than this account, since I sketch a lot more often than I sit down and actually crank something out. I feel like I need to work a lot on bodies/body positions/faces/hands/everything so yeah, I've been sketching a lot. If you want, go ahead and cHeCk It OuT mOtHeRfUcKeR : o ) hOnK
In other news, I still haven't finished Assassin's Creed II.
I get to meet some people from Rooster Teeth!
And so, for the first time since 2008, I find myself going to Anime Expo again. I am SO excited. At the Rooster Teeth booth I get to see Kathleen, who voices Tex; Monty, who does the incredible animations; and Griffon, who does a lot of work for their live-action stuff. I'm so so so so so sosososoosososo excited.
I can't wait to see all the cosplay, either. I'm looking forward to seeing Homestuck cosplayers, since I just finished reading that earlier this week. D:
I'm also hoping to pick up a bunch of Copic markers, too.
Headed off to LA tomorrow. Updates later this weekend, and hopefully with pictures too!
